Day One & Two

Travel west at the start of your tour of Ireland and head towards Killarney.  This area is famed for its beauty and one of the most spectacular areas of scenery is located at Killarney National Park where you can still visit a magnificent Victorian mansion visited by Queen Victoria in 1861.  Also at Killarney National Park is Muckross House, Gardens and Traditional Farms where you can experience farming life as it was in 1930’s.  You can speak to the inhabitants and learn about living conditions before electricity.  Going further back in time, Ross Castle is considered to be a typical example of the stronghold of an Irish Chieftain during the Middle Ages.

Overnight  Killarney area (2 nights)

Day Three & Four

Next on your tour is County Galway and the city of Galway, the only city in the region.  The Anglo-Norman town of Galway has grown into a modern University City but retaining some of its medieval ancestry.  The narrow, bustling streets are full of character and life and the voices you hear will more than likely be speaking Irish.  Shopping in Galway is delightful as there is an array of exquisite products to buy.  These include traditional craft products, hand cut crystal products and traditional Irish designed clothes.  Heading west from the city of Galway you arrive in the Gaeltacht, or Irish speaking area of Connemara, where the mountains are rugged and wild and the Atlantic shapes a beautiful coastline.  Set in a peaceful valley of Connemara is Kylemore Abbey, home to the Benedictine Nuns since 1921.  Adjoining the Abbey is an extensive Pottery and shopping area where you can buy a large selection of Irish crafts and giftware.

Overnight  Galway area (2 nights)

Day Five & Six

The last stage of your tour takes you to Dublin which over the centuries has managed to create an atmosphere which is not found anywhere else..  Dublin is as intimate as a village, sophisticated as a metropolis and as friendly as a pub.  The Vikings are credited with introducing manufacturing trading and coinage over a thousand years ago in Dublin and their impact on the city can be experienced by visiting Dublin’s Viking Adventure.  Here you can travel through time and chat to the locals as they work, experiencing the sights and sounds of the city as it was then.  Later on in the evening you can enjoy a Viking feast by joining the locals in an evening of fun and live entertainment.  Later in its history, Dublin developed its fine 18th Century architecture – some of these fine houses are open to the public and display the grandeur of a more gracious way of life.  Restaurants and pubs are plentiful in Dublin so there are plenty of places to visit at night and give you the chance to meet the locals

Overnight : Dublin area (2 nights)
