Day One
Spend a leisurely day in Edinburgh and explore the historic Capital city from the
comfort of a City Sightseeing bus tour. Visit the imposing Edinburgh Castle and then a short walk takes you to a tour of a tartan weaving mill where you can have a go at weaving yourself before finding out about your own clan tartan.

Overnight for two nights in the Bath area.
Day Two
Your journey into the Highlands takes you north over the Firth of Forth to visit Scone Palace, the crowning site of the Kings of Scotland and a historic treasure house.  Your next highlight is a visit to Caithness Glass Centre where you will see glass delicately moulded into beautiful souvenirs. Continue your journey northwards to the gateway of the Highlands – the pretty town of Pitlochry. In the town take the pretty walk to the Hydro dam where salmon can be seen jumping up the fish ladder.

Dinner and overnight in Pitlochry.
Day Three
This is a day of spectacular scenery as your journey starts with a visit to the pretty town of Dunkeld with its fine Abbey beside the river Tay. Your journey then takes you into the Highlands to the Highland Folk museum at Newtonmore where you discover how a highland village lived and meet some locals and find out how the Highland people dealt with their environment, creating ingenious solutions to their everyday problems of providing light, heat, shelter, clothing and food. The return journey to Pitlochry will take you along quiet scenic lanes over mountains through Forest Parks and alongside Loch Tummel to Queens View. Finish the day with a visit to the scenic Pass of Killiecrankie or continue into Pitlochry to visit Edradour Distillery, the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland, to discover how the “amber nectar” is created and taste a wee dram.

Dinner and overnight in Pitlochry.
Day Four
Depart Pitlochry and drive south through Gen Almond to Crieff Ceramics where you can view the potters creating their individually hand thrown stoneware. Continue onwards to Stirling to visit the fine castle which is perched high on the hill to dominate invading forces and view the Wallace (Braveheart) Monument. Nearby is the site of the Battle of Bannockburn where Robert the Bruce defeated an English army to secure the Scottish throne in 1314 high on the hill to defend the invading forces. It was here that the Battle Of Bannockburn took place.  The final visit on the tour is to former Royal Palace of Linlithgow, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots now a fine ruin after it was accidentally set on fire in 1746. Travel onto Edinburgh for your journey home.
