Arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. Free time to explore this fine historic city and its shops.
Dinner and overnight in the Edinburgh area.

Take the City Sightseeing bus tour for a guided tour of Edinburgh’s highlights including the Castle,
Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile and Princes Street which is lined with world renowned quality shops.
The afternoon is free for shopping or just wandering around this elegant capital city.
Dinner and overnight in the Edinburgh area.

Travel west to the striking ruins of Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and
then continue to Bannockburn Battlefield where Robert the Bruce (Braveheart) was finally defeated
by the English. Spend some time in the beautiful medieval city of Stirling and visit the castle which
dominates the surrounding area. Your journey then takes you through the spectacular mountain scenery
of the Grampians to visit Braemar Castle or the Queen’s summer residence of Balmoral. Continue to the Aberdeen area for overnight and dinner. |

Follow the Spey Valley Whisky Trail through valleys and mountains and take in a distillery visit
and tasting. Spend some time visiting one or more of the many castles in the area – Crathes, Frazer or Craiginvar.
Return for dinner and overnight in the Aberdeen area.

Head north to Elgin and on the way you will pass through Huntly, where shortbread, the traditional Scottish biscuit, is made. In Elgin, visit the ruins of the ‘Lantern of the North’, which was once the
most spectacular cathedral in Scotland. The next visit is the magnificent Brodie Castle and the
historic battlefield of Culloden.
Continue onto Inverness, the capital of the Highlands for dinner and overnight in the area.

Travel through spectacular highland scenery to the west coast to visit the picturesque Eilean Donan
Castle and then cross the toll bridge ‘over the sea to Skye’ and tour along the coast road through
the Cuillin Hills to the island’s capital, Portree to explore the shops, fishing harbour and craft centres,
before returning for dinner and overnight in the Inverness area. |

Start the day travelling along the banks of Loch Ness, home of the famous monster ‘Nessie’ and on to
the ruin of Urquhart Castle before proceeding to Fort William, situated in the shadow of Britain’s
highest mountain Ben Nevis. The tour continues through Glencoe across wild Rannoch Moor and then
along “the bonnie banks” of Loch Lomond to Glasgow for dinner and overnight in the area. |
